This will be the last homework assignment of the year!

Periods 1,4,6: Finish reading The Giver. That is chapters 20,21,22,23. BRING YOUR BOOKS WITH YOU TO SCHOOL. I will be collecting them. Study for the roots test on Thursday (A) and Friday (B).

Periods 2,3: Finish reading 1984. That is up to page 245. You don't need to read the rest. BRING YOUR BOOKS WITH YOU TO SCHOOL. I will be collecting them. Study for the roots test on Thursday (A) and Friday (B).

Please bring all books you have not yet returned!

Periods 1,4,5: Read chapters 17, 18, and 19 of The Giver and do the literature circle assignment. Bring in any library or English books or novels you still have! The Giver will be collected at the end of next week, so be sure to have it with you every class!!!!!!

Periods 2,3: Read 1984 Pages 198 to 226 (IV) and do the literature circle assignment. Bring in any library or English books or movels you still have! 1984 will be collected next Thursday, so be sure to have the book with you every class!

Schedule to end of year:
Monday - Holiday, no school
Tuesday and Wednesday: Literatre Circle, Group work, Roots Bingo
Thursday and Friday: last literature circle, collect books, roots test, finish group projects
Monday: (A) yearbooks distributed, group presentations, classroom awards
Tuesday:(B) 7th grade awards assembly, Fun Day, classroom awards, group presentations
Wednesday: Finals day periods 1 and 2
Thursday: Finals day periods 4 and 5
Friday: Finals day periods 3 and 6

Periods 1,4,6; Read The Giver chapters 13 and 14 and do literature circle assignment.

Periods 2,3: Read 1984 pages 148 to 177 (X) and do literature circle assignment.


Reminders:
Please return your Holt Literature books AND Holt Handbooks. All books must be in this week!!!!

Extra credit assignments are due this Thursday for A day students and Friday for B day students. There are NO exceptions. Students with any missing work cannot hand in extra credit.

Remember that extra credit assignments are due May 21 (for A day students) and May 22 (for B day students). They will not be accepted late for any reason, but they will be accepted early. You must have all work in for this grading period to do extra credit.

OPEN HOUSE is this Wednesday night, May 13.

Please remember to return your Holt Literature book to class from home.

For A day students, I will not accept it on the 23rd). Also, I will not accept extra credit if you are missing any work from the current grading period.

There is an extra credit assignment that is due on May 21 (A) and May 22(B). It is worth a maximum of 45 points, but you may do as much of it as you want. Make sure you put the question number with your answer if you don't do them all, so I know which question you are answering. I will not accept the extra credit assignment late or if you are missing any work from this grading period.

Group projects are due June 1 and 2 and will be entirely done in class.

Periods 2,3: Read to VI in 1984. This is on or about page 55. Do the literature circle assignment.
