Read Chapter 4 of The Outsiders and do side B of the sheet. that includes the characterizations. Characterizations are quotes or passages copied right out of the book that show what a character is like.

Holt Handbook page 49. Exercise 4. Do 1-10 and follow the instructions in the book. Name each verb and identify it as an action verb or a linking verb. If it is a linking verb, write down the two words that it links. The whole class will be going to the library for lessons about the library catalogue on Friday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for the first half of the period. That will be two visits for each class, either A days or B days.
